Amazons, huh? They sure look Egyptian to me!
Planet of the Amazons
The Stratofighter is out scouting ahead of the Explorer. Jeff calls Hawkins to inform him that they've come upon the planet. Hawkins warns him to be alert (Galaxy Garrison needs more lerts). No sooner does the call end when some interesting-looking missiles bombard them from the surface. The Stratofighter takes some hits, and they separate and destroy the missiles. Jeff then receives a transmission from Queen Nephra, ruler of planet Aldura. She accuses them of being Drules. Jeff denies it and they proceed to the planet.
Keezor and his adjutant are unhappy that GG and the Aldurans may make an alliance.
Back at Aldura, this doesn't seem so likely, as the missiles keep coming from the planet. Hawkins deploys the Sea and Land teams and they form the subunits. Commander Carver calls Hawkins and is hopeful that the Aldurans know where the Drule base is, and Hawkins isn't sure how they'll convince them they aren't Drules. The Air Team brakes through the missiles and comes over a massive collection of pyramids. The land team lands among the pyramids and get out of their ships, running through the streets on foot. Suddenly, dozens of heavily-armed, scantily-clad purple-ish women with Russian accents start firing. Jeff gets them to stop firing--and prevents Wolo from opening firing, and it about to try to negotiate with Cliff and Crick appear, strafe the Aldurans, and then kill dozens of them with their wakes. Jeff is a little upset; he and Cliff trade some heated words.
Nephra's voice comes over a PA system, accusing them of being Drules again, and then antique tanks come rolling out and surround them. Jeff tosses his pistol to the side and surrenders in the hopes of being taken to the queen. A door opens in one of the pyramids, and Nephra's voice insists he come alone. Crick stuffs an extra gun down Jeff's pants, and he is escorted by guards into the pyramid.
Inside, Jeff is covered at gunpoint as they come to an elevator that lifts him up a transport tube, and then a staircase. Jeff is prodded up the stairs into some massive chamber. Then Nephra pulls a Paul Muad'dib and appears to Jeff in the most impressive way possible. There's dialogue back and forth--you're a Drule--no, I'm not, I'm trying to stop the Drules. . .
In orbit, a satellite is monitoring the situation. A Drule Captain has his fleet in the sea. Zabar decides to play the two sides against each other. Zabar calls Jeff and the Voltron Force his spies, and threatens to enslave them like their men. She gets mad and smashes the screen with her sceptre.
Cliff, Crick, and Chip are watching their watches. Time has passes.
Jeff and Nephra trade more accusations. She finally pulls a gun on him and starts shooting. Jeff does an admirable gymnastics floor rooting to evade all of the shooting, and finally draws the pistol Crick gave him and disarms her, then makes a run for it.
Outside, Cliff is speculating on the effectiveness of the tanks when Nephra's voice orders an attack. The team evades fire from the tanks, remount their ships, and take off. It's a pretty one-sided battle. Zabar watches and decides to launch his own attack while both sides are occupied. He sends in his fighters. The teams find themselves outmatched when a crazy-looking robeast with a clawed-hand on its crotch appears. The robeast attacks the command pyramid. The Turbo Terrain Fighter and the Aquafighter follow. Jeff gets cornered. Then the robeast breaks in and all hell breaks loose. Just before the robeast smushes him, cliff and Crick save the day and Jeff catches one of the turbo Terrain Fighter's wheels for a ride. They drop him at his ship and he launches.
The subunits disassemble and then they reassemble into Voltron. They open up the fight with the solar wind blasters, and then the solar combat spear to dispell the robeast's beam weapons. It's a sunny day. Nephra sees that they're actually fighting against the Drules. Volts throws the spear and hits the robeast in the crotch. It jumps over Voltron, grabs him from behind, and uses some blade weapons to grind on Voltron's back. They break free and throw the robeast, and it launches missiles. They miss, but the stray shots injure Nephra and some of her troops.
The Explorer and her fleet arrive and engage the Drule fleet. The robeast pulls out some more gimmicks, like a fist that on a chain, and a drill that comes out of its head, but that just delays the inevitable as they form the blazing sword. Then Voltron punches some ships, and then destroys the rest of the Drule fleet with the solar wind blasters. As Zabar's ship explodes around him, Keezor appears on the monitor and taunts him.
Jeff leaps out of his ship and runs to Nephra, and she claims that the Aldurans will all heal with some sort of magic. Uh-huh. Right. Jeff vows to protect them with Voltron.
Then we get some filler scene on the Explorer's lounge. Apparently, they're now going to find the Drule base and the men from Aldura.
Eldora's Plea
A recap of the destruction of Earth's Space base and an explanation that the policy change is due to Teles getting sacked, and the Rugger teams are now entering the Galveston lines of defense.
The Air Rugger is out scouting ahead of the fleet and they detect a planet. Aki advises Ise that they are going to investigate. The planet begins launching missiles. The Air Rugger separates into their individual ships and cut a path through the missiles. Aki decides they should hit the base--then he gets a transmission from Xuneau, queen of Eldora, and she's never heard of no planet Earth and swears to defeat them with all of their power.
At the Galveston frontline base, Luciano is told that Doorn is already in place as the Earth forces approach Eldora. Lucianol wonders if they should depend on a weak planet like Eldora. He is concerned that they have not fully destroyed the Earth space fortress.
Ise sees that the Air Team is in trouble and deploys Keats and Walter to assist. They form their subunits. Date surmises that there is a lot of animosity towards Galveston, and that they should be able to learn about Galveston from this planet.
Aki leads his team through the missile volleys to a base that looks like a crowd of Egyptian pyramids. The ships land and the pilots get out to explore. They are suddenly stopped by Eldora foot soldiers who open fire on the team. Kruez draws his weapon, but Aki stops him in an effort to show goodwill. Then Walter and Keats arrive and strafe the Eldoran infantry, killing many with the wakes of their flying mecha. They ground their ships, and Aki gets pissed. Walter apologizes and tells him not to get pissed. Then they hear a voice over the PA threatening them, and ancient tanks come rolling out. Walter urges them to leave, but Aki doesn't want to lose the chance to meet with someone other than a Galveston ally. He drops his weapon and asks for an audience with the queen. A door in a pyramid opens, and a voice says only the leader may enter. Keats gives Aki a backup weapon, and Walter says that if he's not out in 30 minutes, they're going in after him. He walks to the escort and the door closes
The Eldoran guards lead him down a hall, through an elevator, and to another hall with a massive staircase. At the end of the staircase is the queen's throne chamber. They look like they have fairly high technology. The queen wants to know if he's here to plundertheir planet again. He tells her he's from Earth, but she wants proof.
A Galveston spy satellite has tracked the Rugger team to the pyramids. Doorn decides to turn this to their advantage. An adjutant tells Xuneau that Galveston is contacting her; Aki suddenly wonders who's side she's on. In her chambers, Xuneau is told by Doorn that he will execute the men of her planet if she harms his "agents." She smashes the screen with her sceptre.
Walter and Keats are gettin' antsy.
Aki and Xuneau are both convinced that the other side is in league with Galveston. Then Xuneau says she's wearing a mourning dress as a symbol of their resistance to Galveston, and Aki goes through his gymnastic floor routine. He kicks an Eldoran guard to disarm her, but her weapons is destroyed by more gunfire. He uses Keats' backup pistol to create and opening and escapes.
Walter is musing over the antique tanks, then Xuneau orders the intruders destroyed. The teams get to their ships and Ise agrees to bring the fleet for support.
Doorn sees that one of the Rugger units is missing, and sends in the fighters. Kreuz takes a couple of bad hits, and then the dumb turtle fist-crotch battle machine appears and the machine commander tunnels into the pyramid to kill Xuneau. Aki is still evading the Eldorans when he trips and gets cornered. Xuneau orders them to fire, but the battle machine thunders into the chamber, followed by the Land and Sea Ruggers. Aki escapes and the battle machine pursues.
Aki reaches his machine, and they form Dairugger. 'Ruggs its the battle machine with the Rugger typhoon and dispells its beam attack with the Rugger lance, then stabs it in the crotch, where the fuel tank is. Xuneau sees the fight and wonders that they're actually not on Galveston's side. Then she is fatally wounded by a stray battle machine missile.
The Rugger fleet engages the Galveston fleet. Dairugger gets ensared by an electrified rocket rope--AGAIN--and Ise tells Aki to quit fooling around, finish off the battle machine, and support the Rugger Guard. Aki complies with the whip and then with the sword, and the dumb battle machine design goes to has-been hell. Dairugger then punches a bunch of fighters, and then uses the Dairugger Typhoon to smash all the Galveston ships into each other. Luciano appears on the screen just long enough to tell Doorn to rethink his strategy, then Doorn dies in flame.
Aki finds Xuneau, and she wants to know why he's helping her after she betrayed him. He says because they must all stand against Galveston. Then she dies. Other women in mourning dresses with children appear and STAND SILENTLY (silently, get that, WEP?!) and the camera pulls back on this sad image.
